What we do

Providing safe meeting  spaces for all recovery support groups

Twelve Step Programs

Twelve-step programs are international mutual aid programs supporting recovery from substance addictions, behavioral addictions and compulsions. First developed in the 1930s with the publication of the book Alcoholics Anonymous,  and since that time dozens of organizations have been derived from AA's approach for the treatment of substance use disorders.

Recovery Literature

Recovery takes up a lot of time and energy, but most find it well worth the effort. Luckily we who are new on this journey do not have to figure it all out in a flash nor by ourselves. Recovery Literature provides links to all types of recovery related books, including AA literature, self-help guides to recovery from addictions, current news on addiction research and  much more...

Mental Health Resources

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, nearly one-in-five adults live with a mental illness. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act, and helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. We want to support our recovery community by providing a range of mental health resources and options. We want to help everyone find what they need to heal.

AA SECULAR

Secular AA is a movement within Alcoholics Anonymous that seeks to widen our gateway so that those who suffer may pass through and find long-term sobriety in AA regardless of their belief or lack of belief in a god.

Secular AA assures suffering alcoholics that they can find sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous without having to accept anyone else’s beliefs or deny their own.

Explore AA Secular as we provide our community with links to find Secular AA approaches to recovery, find  hundreds of meetings, find and review books and articles, and websites to our favorite Secular AA programs and groups.

FREETHINKERS

FREETHINKERS are individuals who think freely or independently--one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority.

Freethinkers hold that knowledge should be grounded in facts, scientific inquiry, and logic. This might sound like a pretty uneventful way of living. Our community of freethinkers invite you to find out for yourself--ask a lot of questions and challenge our beliefs as well as your own. You may find yourself more freethinking than you thought!

SCIENCE-BASED RECOVERY

AA never claimed to be the "end-all" or "be-all" for recovery from alcoholism.

Many people with alcohol use disorder or AUD may not want to abstain from drinking entirely. They may wish to seek treatment methods that reduce consumption. There are others that have the goal to quit drinking, yet find some aspects of AA not aligned with their values or beliefs.

Join us as we explore successful and powerful tools of recovery, using science based methods and approaches; programs like SMART, Moderation Management, and Women for Sobriety are redefining the recovery process, making it more inclusive and available to everyone.
